Abstract

Today, new searches have been made both in the field of human medicine and in the field of veterinary medicine in terms of the recognition of diseases and the evaluation of prognosis. Therefore, biomarkers, which are diagnostic and more reliable prognostic indicators in the coming years, have started to be used widely today. Biomarkers are biological indicators that can show fluctuations or changes in disease and health status. At the same time, they are key biological molecules that show the change of physiological process in the face of pathological conditions. Recently, neopterin and midregional-pro-adrenomedullin have been studied as biomarkers in calves with sepsis, both diagnostically and prognostically. As a result, we believe that the use of biomarkers in the early diagnosis of diseases is important in terms of increasing the survival rate. Biomarkers provide important information about the course of the disease as prognostic.
