<p>In our study, it was aimed to determine the effect of fecal microbiota transplantation on the severity of pneumonia with cumulative clinical scoring in a goat herd encountered respiratory system problem. Respiratory system findings of 38 goats were confirmed with anamnesis that was reported to be seasonally recurrent and no response to antibiotic applications and that clinical examination and necropsy findings performed by the veterinary surgeon. After performing filiation and clinical examinations of goats with pneumonia, fecal microbiota with feces obtained from healthy goats was transplanted to goats with pneumonia for once. Scoring was realized by clinical remission of pre-post treatment. <p><em>Renal failure is a frequently encountered disorder of the dogs and cats. Blood urea and creatinine levels are the conventional diagnostic parameters, but elevate only after advanced stage, so a significant period for the therapy onset is mislayed. Serum symetric dimethly arginine (SDMA) is a spesific and early biomarker of renal insufficiency. The aim of this study is to investigate the state of</em> <em>relationships between SDMA, BUN and creatinine levels in dogs. </em><em>In the present study, SDMA, </em><em>BUN and</em> <em>creatinine </em><em>levels are determined in 50 dogs bu ELISA. </em><em>Obtained results displayed an absence of a correlation, but also indicated renal insufficiency in 14% of the dogs which had none related clinical suffering or laboratory finding. <p> </p> <p><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>!e present author (KU) aroused his interest about 25 years ago, during his initial days at assistant position at during early clinical experince while a grease monkey denoted that the problem was inside his dog, not the cutaneous environment. At that miracle day, author changed his mind towards dermatological diseases and searched/investigated gastroentero-dermatology. Nowadays the present author (K.U.) had develeoped anti-leaky gut formulation with his 25 years of experience, who worked hard on this era (gut-brain-skin axis) and retrospectivelly collected his case treatment protocoles, which evolved into this functional food formulation, namely Gut-cumin I. From this perspective a total of 21 dogs diagnosed with in"ammatory bowel disease (iBd) based on relevant laboratory interpretation and clinical scoring, were subjected to rectal enema Gut-cumin I adminstration for 10 days. !is formula involved nutraceuticals and 3 aminoacids participating for promoting gut health. !e purpose at the present study was to determine whether this gut health promoter is tought to be of bene#ciary for he management of iBd in dogs. Dogs existing iBd with a fecal score of $2 and showing canine iBd activity index, classi#ed mild (4-5), moderate (6-8), or severe (9 or >) were enrolled as diagnostic major criterias. Dogs enrolled were received di%erent dose regimes of Gut-cumin I via rectal route for 10 days. <p>Lower urinary tract infections (UTIs) are common in cats and dogs, often caused by various infectious agents, including fungi. Candida albicans is the most frequently isolated fungal species in the urine of these animals, while other fungi like Torulopsis spp. and Cryptococcus spp. have also been identified. Fungal UTIs are rare, accounting for less than 1% of cases, partly due to insufficient fungal culture testing following bacterial infections. Factors such as antibiotic use, compromised immune systems, and underlying conditions like diabetes predispose animals to these infections. Diagnosis relies on clinical symptoms, laboratory tests, and culture of pathogens, while treatment typically involves addressing predisposing factors and using antifungal medications like fluconazole, which is effective and safely excreted in urine.</p>Lora Koenhemsi

<p>In this study; Canine herpesvirus (CHV-1) seroprevalence study, which causes infertility in breeding or pregnant dogs in various commercial dog breeding centers in the Central Anatolia region, was conducted to investigate the situation in the region.</p> <p>In the study carried out in commercial dog breeding enterprises in various provinces and districts in the Central Anatolia Region (Ankara: Haymana, Gölbaşı, Çubuk, Etimesgut, Yenimahalle. Eskişehir: Seyit Gazi. Çankırı: Eldivan.); German Shepherd (n=13), Doberman (n=23), Rottweiller (n=31), Anatolian Shepherd Dog (Akbaş n=3, Malaklı n=9, Kangal n=29), Labrador (n=2), Mallinois (n=2), Border Collie (n=1) and Bernese Mountain Dog (n=1) , a total of 114 breeds were included. One of the samples collected from each dog in two anticoagulant (EDTA) tubes was analyzed molecularly for PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) process, and the other serological evaluation was made with the commercial CHV-1 ELISA kit and these results were compared. Canine Herpes Virus-1 antibody levels were found to be above 10 ng/mL in all establishments where the study was carried out. It was determined that there were many pathological findings in the reproductive history of antibody positive cases.</p> <p>As a result of this study, it was thought that the dogs to be used in breeding, whether female or male, should be subjected to series of gynecological examinations and especially animals free from <em>Canine</em> <em>Herpes Virus-1</em> should be used in production.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Keywords:</strong> Canine Herpesvirus, Infertility, Canine, Seroprevalence, PCR, ELISA</p>ASLIHAN MERVE ARSLANİBRAHİM MERT POLATİLKNUR PİR YAĞCITAHA BURAK ELİFOĞLU

<p> </p> <p><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>In the present article we report a cat with small intestinal bacterial overgrowth with infectious co-morbidity. Recurrent hypersalivation, barborhytm, abdominal distension [both were detected by abdominal ultrasonography] and bad odor feces for several months duration. Referring veterinary surgeon on !eld conditions at private practice tried several antibacterial chioces with waxing and wanning clinical signs. On referral to the present authors university practice, all necessary and relevant laboratory work was deemed available including gut microbiota and PCR analytes. Small intestinal bacterial owergrowth (<em>E.coli </em>infection) was accompanied by viral (Herpesvirus) and parasitological (Giardiasis) co-morbidity and leaky gut (altered diamine oxidase and zonulin levels). To the present authors knowledge bacterial, viral and parasitological co-morbidity has never been reported in cats in our country associated with leaky gut and small intestinal bacterial owergrowth. <p> </p> <p><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Cryptosporidiosis is an acute or chronic enteric disease caused by <em>Cryptosporidium </em>species and seen in neonatal or immunocompromised animals and humans. It causes a serious infection, especially of newborn calves and lambs that results in a serious economic loss. In this study, we aimed to diagnose <em>Cryptosporidium spp. </em>using carbolfuchsin staining and a ready-made diagnostic kit and subsequently to determine its prevalence in neonatal lamb in Kırıkkale province. !e study also aimed to determine the etiologic frequency of <em>Cryptosporidium spp. </em>in lamb diarrhea. !is further aimed to compared carbol-fuchsin staining and the rapid diagnostic kit by means of diagnostic rate. !e fecal samples used in the study were collected from 0-30 days old newborn lambs in Kırıkkale province. Fecal samples were collected from a total of 110 lambs with and without symptoms of Cryptosporidiosis and stained with Carbol-fuchsin dye in accordance with the technique and examined with immersion oil at a magni"cation of 100x. As a diagnostic criterion, observation of a single agent is considered as enough evidence to consider the case positive. Positive samples were scored according to their density and photographs were taken. Samples were also examined with a second diagnostic procedure, the rapid diagnostic kit, following the vendor recommended protocol. <em>Cryptosporidium spp. </em>was detected with an incidence rate of %4,54 (5/110) in carbol-fuchsin staining while it was %47,2 (52/110) in the ready-made diagnostic kit method that indicates there was a signi"cant di#erence between the two used methods by means of the diagnostic rate (p<0.001). !ere was no gender and age di#erences by means of diagnosed cases (p=0.382 and p=0.397, respectively). As result, there is a considerable <em>Cryptosporidium spp. </em>prevalence in the Kırıkkale province.
